services to a range of public and private customers. Our
expertisecovers policy development, sustainable development advice,
computer modelling, water usage and management advice, waste
reduction options, risk assessment and management to business case
development and procurement support. Our consultants are supported
by a core team of environmentalists who provide an understanding of
the technical environmental issues and'political' issues arising
from implementation of policies and projects. An example of a
customer for whom we are providing specialist environmental support
is Defra, the UK's Department for Environment, Food and Rural
Affairs.
Mott MacDonald has been commissioned to provide strategicadvice to
Defra in the UK's development of centralised purchasing of waste
services as part of the overall Government Efficiency initiative.
Our role includes reviewing existing contract arrangements for a
number of Greater London local authorities and recommending where
and how efficiency gains can be realised.
