Mott MacDonald (through our specialist project management consultancy OMM) was appointed to act for the London Stock Exchange in their search for new premises and the subsequent relocation to a new office building.

The London Stock Exchange business is high profile, not only in the UK but globally, therefore, the task of relocation represented a significant change and risk to their operations. The importance of this project meant the Exchange senior management team would be closely involved throughout, demanding very high standards on all aspects of the task. The client team have many internal stakeholders and a key part of our task was to act as the facilitator between the various groups.

We have been involved from the outset, developing and maintaining relationships at all levels with the Exchange. From an initial commission to provide strategic project management, our role has been significantly extended over the 4 years we have been involved, expanding the scope of services to include project management, project monitoring, planning supervision and contract administration.

Our role included leading a project team of professional consultants, together with a top quality construction team to meet the challenge of achieving the client objectives and delivering a complex, high quality fit out for a new landmark building, in the City of London.

Strategic Client Project Manager - Relocation
We were appointed to provide a project management focus to the migration process to relocate its entire business by June 2004 through strategic management and assistance in relocation the London Stock Exchange from its old headquarters in Old Broad Street to their new location at King Edward Court at Paternoster Square. This involved deputisation for the client on the fitout as well as being the focal point in the migration process from the old building into the new. The role was instrumental to the successful delivery ofa number of externally focused and sensitive projects.

Project Manager - New Client Centre
We were appointed to programme manage the new data centre works for the two principal sites taking the scheme from feasibility study to successfully delivery within budget and on time. This role inlcuded risk identification, assessment and mitigation.
